Call me Kiki. That’s not my name, but it’s close enough.

I live in Baltimore, Maryland. I have a love/hate relationship with this city and the state, but in general I love living in Maryland. The state is a unique mix of both northern and southern cultures with an east coast flair. It’s not unusual to meet someone who is a gun enthusiast, yet extremely liberal. There are those who only eat what they hunt and kill, filling their freezers with venison and others who favor shopping at Whole Foods or farmers’ markets and also crave the latest fashion trends at Nordstrom while tracking the most recent political topics in Washington, D.C. It’s fantastic.

I have lived and traveled in various countries overseas and in many cities in the United States. Growing up, my family experienced both hard and flush times, from when my sister and I didn’t know if we were going to get a meal to when we were given opulent (and ostentatious) jewelry with gems. I’ve run the gamut from one to the other end of many spectrums. I hope that this has helped me to connect to people from a wide range of backgrounds.

My life has and continues to be chaotic, but I like it.

It’s crazy, but kind of fun!
